Lumino – E-commerce Seller Dashboard
A comprehensive case study on designing a scalable, data-driven dashboard that empowers sellers with instant insights and streamlined workflows.
Challenge
The goal was to design a dashboard that helps sellers understand their business without digging through multiple pages. Early research showed a common pattern: sellers struggled with fragmented data, slow navigation, and unclear priorities. My first design drafts looked visually strong but failed in one critical area—users couldn't quickly identify what needed attention, especially across inventory alerts, sales changes, and order statuses.
Research Insight
After reviewing seller workflows, I mapped out the actual daily routine:
This revealed the core issue: sellers needed a single, predictable structure that surfaces important information immediately.
Ideation & Iterations
I tested multiple layout structures for analytics, orders, products, customers, inventory, marketing, and settings. Some versions showed too much data on the screen and caused visual fatigue. Others were too spaced out and made scanning slower.
Color and contrast became a major challenge. The first dark mode lacked visual separation between sections. The light mode was readable but didn't feel cohesive. After several revisions, I created a dual color system where each mode has consistent hierarchy, stronger contrasts, and color-coded indicators for health, attention, and critical states.
Solutions Implemented
A unified dashboard that highlights ACOS, keyword ranking, listing health, and stock alerts at the top.
A structured product performance table with clear indicators for status: Healthy, Attention, Critical.
Smooth light and dark themes with consistent scale, spacing, and visual rhythm.
High-readability order tables with payment states, fulfillment types, and quick actions.
Inventory views designed around stock level warnings and reorder insights.
Marketing analytics that show ROI, reach, conversions, and channel performance.
A simplified settings section with organized profile, store controls, notifications, billing, and security.
Final Result
The final design is a scalable, visually balanced platform that supports fast decision-making. Sellers can instantly spot trends, inventory risks, customer activity, or marketing performance without jumping between screens. The system reduces friction, speeds up workflow, and improves clarity through strong hierarchy and consistent visual structure.
What I Did
